Surface and colloid chemistry. Surfactant self-assembly. Polymer-surfactant interaction. Silica-surfactant interaction and formation of mesoporous materials. Cryogenic-transmission elelctron microscopy and small angle X-ray scattering techniques.

Origins of ordering and functionality in meso-structured hybrid material. Synthesis characterization and application of novel mesoporous materials based on liquid crystalline templating. stabilization of nanotubes and their integration in polymer matrix.Mesoscale engineering of biological and synthetic polymeric materials.
