Research title: “Involvement of cytokines in the regulation of male fertility”.

Research Interests

  • During the last years my research was focused on evaluating the physiological and/or pathological role of cytokines in three reproductive processes: 1. Male infertility. 2. Mechanisms of labor under physiological and pathological condition, and brain damage of the offspring and the possibility of treatment with MgSO4. 3. Ovarian carcinoma.

Research Topics

  • In vitro development of human and rodent testicular stem cells
  • Effect of irradiation, chemotherapy and inflammation on testicular stem cells
  • Pro-inflammatory cytokine and male fertility
  • Pro-inflammatory cytokine and the female reproductive system

Major expertise and techniques in the lab

  • In vitro culture of testicular stem cells
  • Evaluation of spermatogenesis
  • Cytokine evaluation techniques
  • Tissue culture and molecular technologies
