  • B.A. 1964-1968 Barnard College, Columbia University, New York, NY; Department of Biology (cum laude with honors in biology). (1966-1967, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Foreign Students' Program) Ph.D. 1968-1974 Sue Golding Graduate Division, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Yeshiva University, New York, NY; Dept. of Microbiology & Immunology. Advisors: Prof. Frank Lilly and Prof. Stanley Nathenson. Title of thesis: Studies on the FMR Antigen Postgrad 1988-1989 Hebrew University of Jerusalem, School of Public Health; Courses in Epidemiology, Advanced Statistical Analysis, and Use of the SPSS Analysis System.

Research Interests

  • Structure, intracellular development and pathogenicity of the chlamydia-like microorganism Simkania negevensis ; epidemiology and pathologic effects of S. negevensis infection in humans; the systemic and humoral immune response to viral and chlamydial infections.
