Research Interests

Comparative and applied endocrinology. Crustacean biology. Regulation of sex-differentiation. Reproduction and growth .Desert Aquaculture.

Research Projects

Gonad maturation, vitellogenesis, and yolk proteins. The regulatory roles of juvenoids in the reproductive processes. Sexual plasticity, the regulatory role of the androgenic gland in sex-differentiation and intersexuality of crustaceans. Adaptation of crustaceans into intensive desert aquaculture systems. The main target organisms are: the freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii, the Australian Red-Claw crayfish Cherax quadricarinatus andthe shrimp Penaeus vannamei.
